Participation & Fundraising

There are a number of ways for families to participate in the St. Paul's community. Not only does this help build a sense of community, it helps us keep tuition in check! At St. Paul's, two-parent families are required to give forty (40) hours of service to the school/parish each year. Single-parent families are required to give twenty (20) hours of service.

Information about any of these activities may be found at the Parents Group meetings, which occur the third Thursday of each month during the school year at 7:00 pm in the Parish Center.

There are several fundraisers a year benefitting St. Paul's, including:

Safeway, Pak N Save & VONS Shoppers

Get ready, scrip's 10% Back to Schools Program will be kicking off again soon. Starting August 11th through September 14th registered scrip families who have designated ST. PAUL’S ELEMENTARY SCHOOL as the recipient of scrip reward contributions from purchases, automatically help earn funds for our group!

Non-scrip families who use their Safeway Club Card, but have not registered their card with scrip can still support our school. Here’s how Safeway Club Card non-scrip families can help boost our school’s earnings:

A) Beginning August 11th through September 14th, Cash Register Receipt Tapes will start printing a redemption code at the bottom of the receipt tapes. Save the receipt. Not only can you collect your own receipts, you can collect from friends, neighbors, the abandoned receipt in the grocery cart, etc. As long as it has a redemption code on the bottom, it means funds for ST. PAUL’S ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!
B) Now that you have a collection of receipts with various redemption codes what do you do? Email your redemption code(s) and/or Safeway Club Card Number (number found on the backside of your Safeway Club Card) as soon as possible to our scrip Coordinator, Camille Inyang (camille.inyang@sbcglobal.net). The codes and/or card number will be entered into the scrip database. OR – turn in your receipts and/or Safeway Club Card number to the school office, c/o the scrip Coordinator.
C) Remember – Printed Redemption Codes will end September 14, 2010.

Registered St. Paul's scrip families will receive an automatic deposit to their account via the regular scrip payment process. You will not see a redemption code on your receipt, instead, the message at the bottom of the receipt will say, "10% Back-to-Schools - Your donation has been sent to the school of your choice." These contributions are already linked to your scrip account, and you and the school will receive credit. Please contact me with any questions. Thank you, Camille F. Inyang.Thank you for supporting ST. PAUL’S ELEMENTARY SCHOOL! If you have questions regarding this fundraiser or how you can help support the scrip efforts of our school, contact our scrip Coordinator, Camille Inyang (camille.inyang@sbcglobal.net), or visit our school’s website: www.stpaulsf.net.

Lucky’s S.H.A.R.E.S. Program

We are excited to have started the Lucky’s S.H.A.R.E.S. program at St. Paul's Elementary School. S.H.A.R.E.S. stands for: Supporting Humanities, Arts, Recreation, Education & Sports. The S.H.A.R.E.S. program is an easy, free and efficient way to fundraise for St. Paul's Elementary School.

We have approximately 200 S.H.A.R.E.S. cards to distribute to St. Paul's families, friends, parishioners and neighbors. Simply swipe your S.H.A.R.E.S. card when purchasing groceries at any Lucky Supermarket store (Smart Mart, Smart Foods, and Food Max purchases apply as well). Each time the card is used, 3% of the qualified purchase earns a S.H.A.R.E.S. point. Each point equals one dollar earned for St. Paul's Elementary School and the school will receive a check each quarter reflecting the amount earned.

Contact Camille Inyang to have a card or cards sent home with your child. S.H.A.R.E.S. cards are also available in the school office. Our group ID: 50665

World's Finest Chocolate Candy

This fundraiser takes place in January/February every year. Students are invited to sell a variety of chocolate candy including World's Finest Almond Bars, Mint Meltaways and variety packs.

Each family earns 50% of its total sales toward the parent financial agreement. In other words, half of the profits go to World's Finest Chocolate Candy Co., and the remaining profits go to St. Paul's School.

To encourage the sale of candy, and greater profits for the school, many exciting prizes are awarded! Top-selling classes have won trips to a Giants baseball game and the San Francisco Zoo!

St. Paul’s School may also receive 40% profit from all items purchased on-line throughout the year! You can shop at www.qspstore.com and use the St. Paul’s account number: 710-313136.

Walkathon

This annual event is held at a San Francisco high-school track on a Saturday afternoon, usually in the fall or spring. Students receive pledges for the amount of laps they walk around the quarter-mile track within a given time-frame. Flat fees may also be pledged. It’s a great opportunity for all students and families to support the school, and have fun at the same time!

Prizes are awarded to individuals and classes who walk the most laps and who solicit the most pledges. In addition, 80% of the money your family raises will count toward your parent financial agreement. All proceeds are directed to the school and parish. Service hours may be earned toward your parent service agreement, by volunteering to help with the Walkathon.
