Participation & Fundraising
There are a number
of ways for families to participate in the St. Paul's community.
Not only does this help build a sense of community, it helps
us keep tuition in check! At St. Paul's, two-parent families
are required to give forty (40) hours of service to the school/parish
each year. Single-parent families are required to give twenty
(20) hours of service.
Information about any of these activities may be found at
the Parents Group meetings, which occur the third Thursday
of each month during the school year at 7:00 pm in the Parish
Center.
There are several fundraisers a year benefitting St. Paul's,
including:

World's Finest Chocolate Candy
This fundraiser takes place in January/February
every year. Students are invited to sell a variety
of chocolate candy including World's Finest Almond
Bars, Mint Meltaways and sometimes a variety pack
that contains 15 Almond Bars, 10 Crisp Bars, 10 Toffee
Bars and 5 Milk Chocolate Bars. Parents are required
to complete a permission/order form for each child
participating in the fundraiser. Orders are placed
by the number of cases. Opened cases of chocolate
may not be returned. Chocolate bars are sold for $1.00
each, a total of $40 per case. Mint Meltaways sell
for $2.00 per box. There are 20 boxes of Meltaways
in a case. All cases of chocolates sell for $40. Each
family earns 50% of its total sales toward the parent
financial agreement. In other words, half of the profits
go to World's Finest Chocolate Candy Co., and the
remaining profits go to St. Paul's School.
To encourage the sale of candy, and greater profits
for the school, many exciting prizes are awarded.
Some of these prizes have included grab gift bags
and cash. Special prizes for 7th and 8th grade students
have included a limousine ride to lunch on a school
day. Top-selling classes have won trips to the Giants
baseball game and the San Francisco Zoo.

Walkathon
This annual event is held at a San Francisco high-school
track on a Sunday afternoon, usually in the fall or
spring. Students receive pledges for the amount of
laps they walk around the quarter-mile track within
a given time-frame. Flat fees may also be pledged.
It’s a great opportunity for all students and families
to support the school, and have fun at the same time!
Prizes are awarded to individuals and classes who
walk the most laps and who solicit the most pledges.
In addition, 80% of the money your family raises will
count toward your parent financial agreement. All
proceeds are directed to the school and parish. Service
hours may be earned toward your parent service agreement,
by volunteering to help with the Walkathon.
